Growing up a Chicago Cubs fan, I’ve often heard and uttered the phrase “next year’s our year.” The Cubs’ year hasn’t quite come, but 2014 is our year.

It’s 10 days in, and we are optimistic and hopeful that this is the year God will open adoptions in Ghana and unite us with our child. We’re clinging to His promise from Philippians 1:6, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished…” (NLT)

God started us on this crazy adoption journey, and He WILL complete it in His time and in His own mysterious way.

Thank you to all of our amazing family and friends who ask for updates, pray for us, send us encouraging verses, quotes, and Pins on Pinterest. We couldn’t do this without you. Please keep it up! Remember, “The prayer of a godly person is powerful. It makes things happen.” (James 5:16 NIrV)

2014, let’s do this.
